Biodentine® is reshaping how cracked teeth are managed. Thanks to its superior sealing ability, biocompatibility, and dentine-like strength, it allows clinicians to preserve pulp vitality while preparing for durable indirect restorations. See how Dr. Paul Renner leverages these properties in his 10-step protocol to improve treatment outcomes and patient care.
Leveraging Biodentine®’s Exceptional Sealing and Healing Qualities for Restoration of Cracked Teeth, Dr Paul Renner discussed how Biodentine® is his material of choice for creating strong, durable restorations of cracked teeth and maintaining pulp vitality. This, he explained, is thanks to Biodentine®’s superior dentinelike hardness, excellent sealing qualities, and therapeutic effects on the pulp. In this second instalment of the three-part series, Dr Renner shares with us his protocol for restoring cracked teeth with Biodentine® in cases of moderate pulpitis. (For more severe cases requiring pulp exposure, be sure to read on for Chapter 3: An Expert’s Protocol for Using BiodentineTM to Manage Cracked Teeth With Severe Pulpitis.)

Dr. Paul Renner has over 40 years of experience in general dentistry, including academic, general and government practice.
Owner of a large private practice situated in Dalby (Australia), he has been employed as a part-time clinical supervisor at the University of Queensland for the last 15 years, supervising final year students.
Paul has been active in the Australian Dental Association Queensland, where he served as president for two terms and was awarded lifetime membership.
Since starting to treat symptomatic carious teeth using vital pulp therapy, it has become an increasingly important part of Paul’s practice. Due to the inability of many patients to afford root canal therapy and restoration with an indirect restoration, Paul has been able to save many teeth from extraction using this approach.
Apart from vital pulp therapy, his other areas of interest are the diagnosis and treatment of cracked teeth and dental photography.
